DAOKO is coming to Animethon! Are you?

Daoko is a singer and multi-faceted creative artist based in Tokyo, Japan.

At just 15 years old, Daoko first captured attention when a track she uploaded to Niconico went viral, leading to her major debut in 2015 with her self-titled album DAOKO. Since then, she has crafted a diverse body of work spanning commercial tie-ups, anime theme songs, and collaborative projects. Her 2017 collaboration with Kenshi Yonezu, “Uchiage Hanabi,” became a cultural phenomenon, amassing over 700 million views on YouTube and cementing her status as one of Japan’s most distinctive artists.

Daoko’s creative pursuits extend far beyond music. She has written novels, held solo art exhibitions featuring her paintings, produced and hosted her own live events, and pursued acting, earning recognition both domestically and internationally for her versatility. In 2019, she established her own personal agency, “Tefutefu,” further asserting her independence as a creative force. In 2023, she also began activities as part of the band QUBIT alongside her solo work.

In 2024, Daoko released her first album in approximately four years, Slash-&-Burn, and gained additional buzz for her featured appearance on “Yoyuu no Gaisen,” a track on Sheena Ringo’s 7th studio album. Her momentum continued into 2025 with high-profile collaborations including “Act feat. Daoko” with Giga & TeddyLoid and “Tokyo Jumpers feat. Daoko” with Peanuts-kun, followed by the release of her digital EP meta millefeuille on November 19th.

In July 2026, Daoko released “TACTIC,” the second opening theme song for the fourth season of the TV anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
