Hidetaka Tenjin

Hidetaka Tenjin works primarily as an illustrator, designer, and concept artist, and has provided illustrations for model kits ranging from Hasegawa’s MACROSS line to BANDAI SPIRITS’ GUNDAM and STAR WARS lines. In the field of anime, some of his most notable contributions include mechanical art for MACROSS ZERO, MACROSS FRONTIER and AQUARION and the creation of mechanical designs for HELLSING, MACROSS DELTA, KNIGHT’S & MAGIC, SUPER ROBOT WARS T, BACK ARROW and YASUKE. He also provided mechanical imagery and animation direction on STAR BLAZERS: SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 2205. Most recently, he supplied concepts and mechanical designs for the original net animation (ONA) series BULLET/ BULLET, and served as chief mechanical designer for the Web3 mech shooter game DARK MACHINE.
 
In 2022, he designed a four-legged robot for Sansei Technologies. He was also the recipient of Comic-Con International’s prestigious Inkpot Award. Ten volumes of his collected works have been released to date, seven in Japan and three internationally.
