In partnership with the Edmonton Smash Bros Community, the Edmonton Fighting Game Community, and Overklocked Gaming, Animethon is present tournament gaming for consoles!

  • Free to enter with gaming or event pass.
  • Single elimination
  • 4 player free for all
  • Items ON
  • All regular stages legal and stage hazards ON
  • Random stage select
  • Time mode 4 mins
  • Item prize for winner.
  • Final Game is on Persona Stage (Mementos)
Super Smash Bros Ultimate Squad Strike Rules

Tetris Effect Rules
  • Marathon Mode with a 150-line limit.
  • Every participate gets one opportunity.
  • Highest score by the end of the event is awarded the winner.
  • Item prize for winner.

General Rules

  • Players must check in at the registration desk 30 minutes before the event starts.
  • Staff reserve the right to disqualify late or no-show players.
  • Players using wireless pads must desync after their match.
  • Not doing so will result in a disqualification.
  • Brooks converters are allowed. Cronus Max Plus and Titan One converters are banned.
  • Players are allowed up to 1 minute between games.
  • Any player pausing during a match will receive a loss for that match.
  • All events are double elimination.
  • Please ask staff if you are unclear of any rules or procedures.
  • Staff reserve the right to make the final call.


BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Rules

  • Default settings.
  • Best of 3 rounds per game. Best of 5 games per set.
  • Winner must keep their team, loser may change their team.
  • Legacy controllers are prohibited.


Dragon Ball Fighter Z Rules

  • Default settings.
  • Best of 3 rounds per game. Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).
  • Winner must keep their team, loser may change their team.
  • Random stage select unless agreed upon.
  • Legacy controllers are prohibited.


Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2 Rules

  • Technical Mode
  • Best of 3 rounds per game. Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).
  • Winner may not switch character, loser may switch characters.
  • Random stage select unless agreed upon.
  • No limit for stage BGM.
  • Usage of character color “ECLIPSE” is prohibited.


Puyo Puyo Tetris Rules

  • All games are Swap Mode.
  • Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).


Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Rules

  • Default settings.
  • Best of 3 rounds per game. Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).
  • Winner may not switch character or SA.
  • Loser may switch characters or SA.
  • Random stage select unless agreed upon.
  • Draws are replayed.


Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Rules

  • Default settings.
  • Best of 3 rounds per game. Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).
  • Winner may not switch character, loser may switch characters.
  • Winner may switch their character’s V-Trigger if the loser switches characters.
  • Random stage select unless agreed upon.
  • Kanzuki Beach and Skies of Honor stages are banned.
  • If either stage is selected, repeat random stage selection.
  • Draws are replayed.
  • Legacy controllers are prohibited.


Super Smash Bros Melee Rules

  • Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 8).
  • 4 Stocks, 8 Minutes.
  • Items and pause are disabled.
  • Accidental pausing results in a forfeit of a stock.
  • Players strike (P1, P2, P2, P1) or agree on the first stage.
  • Loser selects stage, winner selects character, loser selects character.
  • You may not choose any stage you previously won on, unless agreed upon.
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the legal stage list.
  • Wobbling is banned (maximum 8 pummels).
  • Neutral: Battlefield, Final Destination, Yoshi’s Story, Dreamland, Fountain of Dreams
  • Counterpick: Pokemon Stadium

  • Loser may pick a new stage or character.
  • If loser chooses a new character, stage selection is random.
  • Character customization are off.

Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[st] Rules

  • Default settings.
  • Best of 3 rounds per game.
  • Best of 3 games per set.
  • Best of 5 games per set (Top 4).
  • Winner may not switch their character, loser may switch characters.
